LAMPARINA CENTRO CULTURAL
A Lamparina Centro Cultural é uma iniciativa comunitária independente sem fins lucrativos que proporciona aulas, oficinas educativas e atividades artísticas de diversas linguagens relacionadas à cultura afro-brasileira e afro mineira para as crianças, a juventude e a terceira idade.
Lamparina Cultural Center is an independent, nonprofit community initiative that offers classes, educational workshops, and artistic activities across a range of disciplines related to Afro-Brazilian and Afro-Mineiro culture for children, young people, and older adults.
Desde o início da década de 1980 as ações sociais e artísticas acontecem na comunidade do Maria Goretti, de forma voluntária, com o intuito de promover a cultura e possibilitar perspectivas para a comunidade, principalmente aos jovens que muitas vezes estão em situações de vulnerabilidade.
Since the early 1980s, social and artistic activities have been carried out voluntarily in the Maria Goretti community, with the aim of promoting culture and creating new opportunities and prospects for local residents, particularly young people, who are often in vulnerable situations
Em 2018, Mestre Negoativo, ativista cultural, capoeirista e pesquisador da musicalidade e cultura afro mineira, toma a iniciativa de retomar as ações sociais na comunidade, junto com seu filho Aruan, professor de capoeira e Mestre em Filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Juntos, reabrem as portas da casa de Dona Doca para acolher toda a comunidade e transmitir saberes preciosos da diáspora africana e fundamentados no cuidado coletivo.
In 2018, Mestre Negoativo, a cultural activist, capoeira practitioner, and researcher of Afro-Mineiro music and culture, took the initiative to revive the community’s social activities alongside his son, Aruan, a capoeira teacher and a Master’s graduate in Philosophy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais. Together, they reopened the doors of Dona Doca’s house to welcome the entire community and share the precious knowledge of the African diaspora, grounded in the principles of collective care
Atualmente, a “Lamparina” conta com a participação de crianças, jovens e adultos na construção de suas ações, e disponibiliza: biblioteca comunitária, aulas de capoeira, musicalidade e ritmo de forma regular. Além disso, se mantém aberta para a comunidade ao redor e expandida pelas redes de colaboração, realizando apresentações de espetáculos de teatro de artistas independentes, rodas de conversa, apresentações musicais, dentre outros.
Today, Lamparina brings together children, young people, and adults in the development of its activities and offers a community library, as well as regular classes in capoeira, music, and rhythm. In addition, it remains open to the surrounding community and extends its reach through collaborative networks, hosting performances by independent theater artists, discussion circles, musical performances, and other cultural activities.

Todas as atividades realizadas em 8 anos de atuação são voluntárias e totalmente abertas ao público. No entanto, para a sustentabilidade da ação, é necessário sempre buscar recursos para despesas de manutenção, como água, luz e internet, e aquelas que garantem o bem estar das crianças, jovens e adultos participantes, como alimentação. Por isso, convidamos aqueles e aquelas que acreditam na importância dos espaços que preservam a memória das manifestações da diáspora africana e da cultura afro brasileira à se cadastrarem como colaboradores financeiros mensais da Lamparina Centro Cultural!
All activities carried out over the past eight years have been entirely voluntary and open to the public. However, to ensure the sustainability of our work, we must continually seek resources to cover essential operating expenses, such as water, electricity, and internet, as well as costs that help ensure the well-being of the children, young people, and adults who participate in our activities, such as food.
